I've also recently put about 5 hours per week into promoting Mypowermall, but it's not constant 5 hours per week. This company will give me (and you) financial freedom within a couple of years. Then I won't need to do ANY other work from home, and can just sit home, or go out and shop, or dinner, etc.....I'm dreaming about it already! This is why I'm putting time into it. "Ok, all these free money opportunities are great, but do I have to pay taxes on it?"

Great question. The answer is yes and no. You SHOULD always keep a record of anything you earn and spend when related to your business expenses. Working from home requires more organization and paperwork, as YOU are responsible for every aspect of your own business.

The general rule is, (and please don't think I'm telling you NOT to file small amounts of income with the IRS, as you should report ANY and ALL income), BUT, if you earn MORE than $600 in a year from any of these jobs or companies, you will be sent a 1099 form at the end of the year from each company with a detailed record of all of your earnings for that year. (This is the same thing as a W-2 you would receive at the end of the year for any employer)

You have to keep in mind, that with the exception of a few at home jobs, that you are an independent contractor, or sole-proprietor, and are responsible for filing and reporting your own taxes. Whether you do them yourself or have family or friends, or an accountant or tax specialist do it for you is entirely up to you.

But, it's important to keep records of your earnings and expenditures. Any money you spend for your business can be deducted, and any earnings, no matter how large or small, should be recorded, so that you can compare this info. to your 1099 form at the end of the year. (Should you earn more than $600 in that year from that company.) It sounds tedious, but it really isn't.

When you spend or earn any money that is BUSINESS RELATED ONLY, just jot it down, or use a spreadsheet, or, like me, I use H&R Block for taxes SIMPLY BECAUSE they have the best business tax record booklet I have EVER seen! You can even, if you have a separate office or room, receive a tax deduction from your phone bill, utilities, rent or mortgage, trash, oil and heating costs, as a percentage, based upon the size of your work room/area in conjunction with the size (square footage) of your house! How great, huh?!
